Delay in Gym Opening

30 September 2021

Following our last communication regarding the opening of the gym on 1 October 2021, we regret to inform you that it has been rescheduled to open on 16 October 2021 instead. This is due to the non-delivery of a vital component of the Fire Safety System from a Covid-19 locked down factory in Japan, which will only be delivered in mid-November 2021. This has caused the inability of the gym to be certified for fire safety compliance as mandated by the Singapore Civil Defence Force. Meanwhile, the electrician is sourcing for a temporary system until the component part arrives.

In addition, two workers on site have unfortunately contracted Covid-19 and this has resulted in the restriction of manpower deployed to finish the renovation works. Please rest assured that this is an isolated case and the infection is contained within the Sports Block. Since then, we have thoroughly disinfected the Sports Block.

The gym will open for fully vaccinated* members and their guests from 16 October 2021 with a common set of workout equipment. The gym is expected to be fully equipped by the end of October.

The existing arrangement with the Hollandse Club to accommodate our gym enthusiasts will also cease on 1 Oct 2021 due to the current Covid-19 tightened safe management measures.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding.

* Refers to a fully vaccinated person (2 weeks after the second dose of vaccine: Pfizer BioNTech/Comirnaty or Moderna)

• For tennis, only a maximum of two persons is allowed, which may be made up of two players or one player and one coach per court.

• Members using the pool must observe safe distancing measures at all times. Individuals must maintain a minimum of two meters of safe distance from each other, while groups will be limited to a maximum of 2 people, keeping a minimum of three meters from the next group. Members are still required to book their swimming slots via the reception at least one day in advance. In-person, phone or email bookings are accepted as well.

• Members using the Hollandse Club gym for workouts, kindly note that the closure has been extended till 13 June.

• SafeEntry is mandatory for all members and guests. From 17 May, all visitors will no longer be allowed to digitally check-in by scanning the SafeEntry QR code with their phone camera or the Singpass app. Please use either the TraceTogether app or the TraceTogether Token for SafeEntry.

• It is also mandatory to check-in and take your temperature at both the front gate entrance and our F&B outlets. For members and guests arriving at the club after 6.30pm and in the event of heavy rain, please check-in and take your temperature at the main reception.

Our Safe Distancing Ambassadors are patrolling the Clubhouse to ensure that both members and their guests adhere to The Club’s Safe Management Measures. Please be kind and patient with our Safe Distancing Ambassadors, who are doing their best to keep the club safe for you. The Government mandates the Safety Management Measures, and we urge all members to comply.
Penalties for non-compliance are severe, not only for individual offenders but for the rest of the Club community. We face the potential risk of Clubhouse closure if non-compliance is found. Members caught flouting the regulation risk having their membership suspended.

To ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone at the club, we will be closely monitoring updates and guidelines from MOH on the COVID-19 situation via https://www.moh.gov.sg/covid-19

As we are currently in a stage of heightened alert, we urge everyone to be vigilant and minimise unnecessary social interactions. Do continue to mask up, practise good hygiene, maintain a social distance of 2-meter between individuals, and avoid mingling between groups within the Club’s premises.

Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation. Take care and stay safe.
