NOTICE TO ALL POLO PLAYERS
Prevailing adverse atmospheric conditions are exacerbating the haze situation and causing a fairly serious problem with air quality. All polo players are therefore asked to note as well as adhere to the guidelines set out below.
3-hour PSI level |
Below 100 |
101 to 120 |
121 to 150 |
Above 150 |
Polo |
To proceed as normal |
PSI>100: Polo cancelled |
PSI > 120: & Ball and/or Polo lessons cancelled |
Walking Only for polo ponies; players advised to wear surgical or other appropriate face masks |
Stick & Ball or schooling in an Arena |
100< PSI < 120:Stick & Ball and/or Polo lessons permitted. |
Obviously, horses will need to be exercised i.e. at minimum walked out at least twice a day, but polo players/riders need to be very mindful not to overdo their horse’s exertion especially once the 3 hour PSI level hits 100.
For more detailed information and advice you may wish to consult the NEA website (www.nea.gov.sg), the haze microsite (www.haze.gov.sg) or NEA Twitter (@NEAsg), or download the myENV app to monitor the PSI level.
