Notice to Members

3 August 2023

Dear Members,

We note that some member’s comments about the proposed new agreement between the Equestrian Federation of Singapore (EFS) and Singapore Polo Club (SPC) are misleading. We strongly advise against this as such comments could negatively impact the positive direction that both the EFS and SPC is working towards for the overall benefit of the equestrian community and Singapore residents.

The EFS and SPC are aligned to raise the overall standards of the NEP and will work closely together to expand the equestrian footprint that benefits not just the sport but also for horse loving people and also the equine community. Through this close co-operation which would be beneficial through shared professional services and better economies of scale, the future looks promising for NEP and equestrian sports.

Members are encouraged to attend the coming EGM on 15 August 2023 so that you can have a clear understanding on the benefits of a positive collaboration between the EFS and SPC beneficial to the community and equestrian industry.

Thank you.

Increase In Subscription Fees From 1 July 2023

At the Club, we always strive to provide high-quality services at competitive prices. However, despite our central location, we have not increased our subscription fees since January 2016.

We recognise that many of our members have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, and we did not raise fees during this challenging time. Additionally, we were fortunate to receive some grants from the government that helped us stay afloat. However, the current economic situation has made it difficult for us to maintain our standards without an increase in subscription fees. We have done our best to cut costs and avoid passing any fees on to our members, but this is no longer sustainable. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to increase our subscription fees, effective from 1 July 2023.

As a comparison, some local clubs have already raised their base subscription rates since January 2023, with an average increase of 16.5% across subscription types.

We value your membership and hope that you will continue to enjoy the many benefits of being a part of our Club. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to your continued support and patronage.
